Small event photography can be challenging and interesting from a photographer's viewpoint. Lighting conditions can be all over the place and people can be uncomfortable with having their picture taken. The trick is to try to be as subtle and unobtrusive as possible. With new technology, use of a flash can be avoided far more than in the past. That alone allows the photographer to blend into the background. The best shots are often the candid ones, although the semi-posed ones can be fun as well.
